1. 'From the MIDI/Audio menu, choose Instrument Setup VST Instruments. In the same dialog box, click on the drop-down menu next to Finale Channel 1-16 and choose Aria Player' But when I click on the drop-down menu, I only see 'SmartMusic SoftSynth', and no 'ARIA Player'. I can load aria files on the player, but the knobs don't do anything.
2. Feb 18, 2017 'Rescan for VSt Plugins' Verified that the softsynthvstx64.dll is in the 'ProgramData MakeMusic Finale VST Support' directory That directory is not listed in my laptop's 'Manage VST Plugin locations' and it works fine, but to be safe, I tried adding it to my Desktop's VST locations, but it did not fix the problem.
